Over here in L.A, we Yeti’s have been busy getting lost in the ‘lala land’ lifestyle. Superb nightlife, rooted sub-cultures and a diverse art scene are all complemented by stunning weather and beautiful women- there’s more than one reason why this Yeti should be sweating it out.

In between the hectic schedule, we checked out Illest boutique’s LA branch, opening down town in Little Tokyo.  Spread over 2 days, the grand opening hosted a private party before it’s official public opening.

    illest [cut & sew]
Created in the spring of 2008 and inspired by hip hop music of the 90′s & motorsports. The illest line has further expanded its offering of tees and accessories to its first season of cut/sew which pays attention to detail and offers a twist on classic cuts. Some highlights of the line:

M65 (Jacket) made of a treated twill similar to the days before there was gore-tex.

The crewneck fleece are designed with pockets. Designed by Kevin Sanchez & Mark Arcenal.

Mark has been on his hustle, putting the San Fransico streetwaer store, Fatlace on a new, untouchable level of cool. Amongst all the other projects the SF-based brand has bubbling away; thier also on the verge of launching the “cut & sew” segment of their Illest brand. They’ve paied a great deal of attention to the smallet details and have even extended their lines for kids, so why not get your whole family looking fresh?

To kick off the new line, Del Tha Funkee Homosapien performed along with Bukue One and a special guest freestyle session with Fashawn.

Roll on the following morning and besides the few hung over party animals the store welcomes hundreads of keen limited edition fetish folk covering half of 2rd street right down to the corner of San Pedro and beyond. Those who’ve been camping out since 6 PM last night are there for more than just the free slices of cake. Free products and rare giveaways are available for the first batch of dedicated Fatlace & Illest followers.
